The
Targets of IRN - The International Research Network for Social Work
The IRN was
developed with the aim to implement one of the main purposes of SICSW. We
consider it important that new networks emerge which will enable Social Work
researchers to place their work in a globalized context and to develop new,
innovative projects with an international focus. The IRN should be an instrument
for developing such networks.
The main idea
of this network is that the personal contacts around research questions of
social work support international exchange and in the long term contribute
to the enhancement of the social work profession and discipline.
The researchers
united in the IRN are interested in the international development of social
work and strive to promote and support it within their possibilities. The
members of the network are:
- possible cooperation partners for already existing or still-to-be-developed,
internationally focused research projects
- potential contact persons for conceptual questions regarding the development
of internationally comparable research projects, because they are familiar
with country-specific structures of social work
With this offer,
we hope to bring together individuals with common interests.
